DYLOTT is excited to welcome the re-investment of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) into the Black Diplomats Academy.
The Black Diplomats Academy, officially launched in 2021, builds upon the successful pilot program in 2019-2020. This Academy features direct access for young aspiring Black diplomats to gain experiential learning opportunities through learning lab modules facilitated by diplomatic representatives, one to one mentorships and internship opportunities with the field of global affairs and public leadership.
The Academy brings together young leaders across Canada with a truly global perspective with fellows hailing from Jamaica, South Africa, Cameroon, Germany, Kenya and more. “The aim of this Academy is to advance the concept of Black Diplomacy. This enables the amplification of young leaders representing priorities of Black communities globally.” Candies Kotchapaw, DYLOTT Executive Director.
CIBC’s commitment for the 2021-2022 program year allows the Academy to further impact the professional development, socio-economic outlook and employment prospects for the next generation of aspiring Black state leaders.
