“I cannot begin to express the joy that I am feeling to receive this honour in Black History Month ”- I’m proud of the recognition of being one of the Top 25 Canadian Women of Influence. The work that I do at DYLOTT is a culmination of lived experiences of facing systemic barriers AND finally seeing mentors who look like me in spaces that I used to think we did not belong. I will continue to do this work so that those who come after me will be better positioned to face less barriers to their success.”

Candies Kotchapaw, DYLOTT

Developing Young Leaders of Tomorrow, Today (DYLOTT) is pleased to announce that our Executive Director Candies Kotchapaw has been named one of the Top 25 Women of Influence 2020, by Women of Influence Global.

Candies’ countless effort challenging systematic barriers facing Black youth, has her recognized as a change agent who is creating new pathways for the next generation. Through her collaborations with the Global Affairs Canada and Young Diplomats of Canada, DYLOTT was able to send four youth leaders as Canadian delegates to the Future We Want Model United Nations forum at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.

The four young leaders were highlighted by Canadian Consul General Nadia Theodore who was one of the keynote speakers discussing trade policy.

Through DYLOTT, Candies hopes to continue to create opportunities and advocate for policies that empower Black youth. DYLOTT’S goal is to break barriers and to inspire lasting social change for the future.
