TORONTO, CANADA October 17th, 2022 /CNW/
Developing Young Leaders of Tomorrow, Today (DYLOTT) is proud to announce that our Executive Director Candies Kotchapaw will head to Hamburg, Germany from October 24-28, 2022 as one of the three policy taskforce leaders for the Canadian Delegation of the G20 Young Entrepreneurs Alliance (YEA) 2022.
Chosen from over 200 Applications, Candies heads the Social Sustainability & Peace-building - Inclusion and Equal Opportunities policy taskforce. She will be one of the 47 entrepreneurs nation-wide, and one of the 14 from Ontario that will represent Canada at the G20 YEA Summit. Over the course of the months leading up to the Summit, the Sherpa and taskforce leads met with delegation members to identify policy priorities that have an impact on young entrepreneurs nationally and globally. These consultations will culminate in the production of the official communiqué on global entrepreneurship policy which will then be presented to the leaders of the Group of 20 (G20) countries. G20 countries include India, China, Argentina, Indonesia, Mexico, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Canada, France, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Japan, South Africa, United Kingdom, Russia, United States, South Korea and the European Union.
Hosted by Germany, this year’s theme is Harbouring Peace and Sustainability through Entrepreneurship. Each delegate was chosen because their business aligned with the theme and brought a unique distinctive perspective to the 2022 Summit. “These entrepreneurial leaders will focus on what it means for Canada and its diverse young entrepreneurs to conduct business while addressing systemic barriers to economic development, as well as building relations and a better understanding of equity, inclusion and reconciliation.” - G20 YEA
“Participation in this year’s Summit as a taskforce lead is a testament to the sustained actions and advocacy for the representation and inclusion of Black young people in policy development activities that I have been privileged to advance through DYLOTT’s programs” says Candies. DYLOTT is proud to see our ED’s participation as part of the Canadian delegation as an instrumental catalyst of global change alongside a multitude of inspiring young leaders.
The G20 Young Entrepreneur Alliance is a “global network consisting of young Entrepreneurs and the Organisations that support them.” They have convened each year ahead of the G20 summit which brings together the world’s top young entrepreneurs to share ideas of how to create change. This year the G20 YEA Summit will take place in Hamburg, Germany in October 2022.
